What’s new in season 2?
Golf comedy ‘Stick’ returns for season 2 on Apple TV, bringing back Owen Wilson’s laid‑back character Pryce Cahill. The new arc follows Cahill as he tries to revive his own career while mentoring rising talent Santi. Fans can expect the same blend of low‑stakes humor and subtle sports commentary that defined the first season.
How the release schedule works
The first two episodes of the second season are available immediately on Apple TV. After that, Apple TV follows a weekly drop model, adding a fresh episode every Wednesday. This staggered approach gives subscribers a regular reason to return to the platform throughout the season.
- Episodes 1‑2: available now
- Episode 3: released Wednesday, 2026
- Subsequent episodes: continue each Wednesday
Why the show matters for Apple TV subscribers
‘Stick’ sits at the intersection of sports‑themed storytelling and comedy, a niche that Apple TV has been cultivating with titles like “Ted Lasso” (though on a different service) and “The Morning Show.” The series adds a light‑hearted, golf‑centric option that can attract both sports fans and comedy lovers, expanding the platform’s content diversity.
From a technical standpoint, the series is streamed in Apple’s standard 4K HDR format, meaning viewers with compatible devices get a crisp visual experience that complements the on‑course scenery. The show also integrates seamlessly with Apple’s ecosystem, allowing users to add episodes to their Watch list, receive push notifications for new drops, and sync playback across iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.
For existing Apple TV+ subscribers, the return of ‘Stick’ is a reminder that the service continues to invest in original scripted series beyond drama and sci‑fi. For potential new subscribers, the comedy’s easy‑going premise and weekly release cadence provide a low‑commitment entry point.
Overall, the second season reinforces Apple TV’s strategy of offering a steady stream of original content that appeals to varied audience segments while leveraging the company’s hardware strengths.
